This Privacy Policy sets out how and why T8TA  collects, uses and discloses information, including personal information.

“Personal Information” means any information, recorded in any form, about an identified individual or an individual whose identity may be inferred or determined from such information, other than business contact information. Business contact information is: name, title, business address, business telephone and fax numbers and e-mail address.

 

The use of Personal Information is limited to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

T8TA collects information in order to:

  • provide products, services or information;
  • comply with any legal or regulatory requirement; and
  • such other purposes consistent with the foregoing purposes.

 

How T8TA Uses Personal Information

This website only collects, uses and discloses Personal Information for purposes that would be considered reasonable in the circumstances and only such information as is required for the purposes of providing products, services or information.

Unless permitted by law, no Personal Information is collected, without first obtaining the consent of the individual concerned to the collection, use and dissemination of that information. However, T8TA may seek consent to use and disclose Personal Information after it has been collected in those cases where T8TA wishes to use the information for a purpose not identified in this Privacy Policy or not previously identified or for which the individual concerned has not previously consented. In the event an individual, who provides information to T8TA, does not indicate his/her consent, the submission of the information to T8TA constitutes the consent of an applicant to the use of his or her personal information for these purposes.

When T8TA May Disclose Your Personal Information

T8TA does not sell, rent or trade Personal Information to anyone.

 

T8TA may release Personal Information, which is not already public, when T8TA believes, in good faith, when it is reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with any legal or regulatory requirement;
  • protect the legal rights, property or safety of T8TA, T8TA’s members, staff, management, service providers; or
  • provide you a product, service or information.

 

T8TA may provide aggregate statistics about this website’s operation to third parties, but these statistics will not have personally identifying information. Where the T8TA discloses Personal Information to organizations that perform services on T8TA’s behalf, T8TA will require those service providers to use such information solely for the purposes of providing services to the person concerned or T8TA and to have appropriate safeguards for the protection of your Personal Information.

 

Where obliged or permitted to disclose information without consent, T8TA will not disclose more of Personal Information than is required.

 

Accuracy and Retention of Personal Information

T8TA takes reasonable steps to ensure that any Personal Information provided to T8TA and in T8TA’s possession is as accurate, current and complete as necessary for the purposes for which T8TA uses that information. If T8TA becomes aware that Personal Information is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, T8TA will revise the Personal Information and, if necessary, use T8TA’s best efforts to inform third parties which were provided with inaccurate information so that those third parties may also correct their records.

 

T8TA retains Personal Information only as long as it is required for the reasons it was collected. When Personal Information is no longer required by T8TA, T8TA will employ reasonable methods to destroy, delete, erase or convert that Personal Information into an anonymous form.

T8TA takes reasonable steps to maintain appropriate security so as to prevent any loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, or modification of Personal Information. T8TA also takes these reasonable steps regarding disposal or destruction of Personal Information.

From time to time, T8TA audits T8TA’s information management practices and security procedures to ensure compliance with this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

 

Access To Personal Information

T8TA permits the reasonable right of access and review of Personal Information held. T8TA will use T8TA’s best efforts to provide the information requested within a reasonable time and no later than 30 days following the Personal Information request. Where Personal Information will not or cannot be disclosed, the individual making the request will be provided with the reasons for non-disclosure.

A visitor to T8TA’s web site (https://treaty8.bc.ca/) is not required to reveal any individually identifiable information, such as name, address, or telephone number.
